I decided on green for a pop of color to add to the family room. I up-cycled a pair of brass lamps using Krylon Ivy Leaf Green spray paint. It's just the right shade, not too bright, not too dull. Taking a tip from House Beautiful, (it's all in the details!!),  to finish off the lamp shades I glued dark blue ribbon on the top and bottom. I only glued along the shade seam in the back, in case I ever want to change it.
